21-year-old Joshua Taylor was jailed on November 11th after assaulting his wife at their home on Brentridge Place. Joshua advised that he and his wife, Hannah Burton, were arguing due to ongoing marital issues when she tried to leave the apartment. Hannah had the keys to Taylor’s car, and he told her to return them. When she refused, he tried to grab the keys from her hand. She then tried to knee him but missed and was shoved away. She swung her hand at him but missed again. When Taylor tried to take the keys again, Ms. Burton bit his hand. Officers observed the fresh bite mark on his hand. Ms. Burton told police that she caught her husband cheating, and that’s why they started arguing. According to Ms. Burton, her husband was on the phone with his mother, who was telling him to stop her from leaving. She showed the police the missing skin from her fingers as a result of Taylor trying to rip the keys from her hand. She also explained that she bit him because he wrapped his arms around her to restrain her. Due to the injuries and the fact that Taylor initiated the physical altercation, he was taken into custody.
