26-year-old Markeeis Antwan James, a Don’t Chase Boyz 615 member, a street-racing crew that actively hosts and attends meetups in the Middle Tennessee area, was “sliding” at a gathering at Corporate Place in the late night hours of April 22nd. James spun his car at a high speed, lost control, and struck David Garcia, a juvenile onlooker, resulting in serious bodily injuries that required hospitalization. James’s participation and attendance at the street-racing meetup constitutes riotous conduct. He was taken into custody on December 12th, charged with riot and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. “Get back or get clapped” is a common phrase used in the street-racing community when someone is too close to the cars performing.
