De’Sean Keys jailed after failing to appear on texting while driving citation

28-year-old De’Sean Keys was holding his cell phone in his hand and tapping on the screen while driving his 2012 Kia Sorento on April 12, 2023. Keys was observed by THP Trooper Matthew Priest, who conducted a traffic stop on I-65 South near mile marker 86. He was issued a state citation and ordered to appear in court in June and again in August. He failed to appear for a court date, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He was booked into jail this week on the outstanding citation for texting while driving.

De’Sean A Keys of S 6th St in Nashville, TN, was booked on the citation on January 9th, charged with driving with a cellular device. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $250, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
