29-year-old Edwin Saul nearly struck an officer’s patrol car with his blue Tacoma on I-40 in the early hours of February 3rd. Officers noticed this, drove behind him for further observation, and observed him swerving before they initiated a traffic stop. Saul passed several safe spots to pull into and stopped halfway onto the shoulder lane, partially in a travel lane. They approached and asked him to exit the vehicle, to which he complied, and watched him stumble while walking to their patrol car. Saul was detained, and in a subsequent search of his pickup truck, officers located several open containers throughout the vehicle. Saul was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
