28-year-old Shaitrustin Gaines was booked on an outstanding warrant and citation. The first incident was from August 25th, 2023, when Gaines showed up at Inman Braidin’s apartment early in the morning. Gaines got on top of them and strangled them out of their sleep. Gaines put his weight on Inman’s chest and didn’t move despite Inman yelling for him to get off. After about 30 minutes, Gaines rolled off Inman, and they began to argue. During the argument, Gaines grabbed Inman by the neck and pushed them against the cupboard in the kitchen. When Gaines let go, he immediately slapped Inman across the face, causing them to “blackout.”

The second incident was from November 21st, 2023, when an officer observed a black Hyundai Santa Fe run a red light on Vietnam Veterans Parkway. When the officer pulled Gaines over, it was discovered that Gaines did not have a driver’s license and was issued a citation. Gaines was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail for both incidents on February 4th 2024.
