31-year-old Marquice Beasley was sleeping in the driver’s seat of his vehicle on the left shoulder of I-40 West near mile mark 213.2 late March 23rd. When officers located him, they noticed his car had the gear in drive, and then it began moving slightly but was stopped by the median. When he exited his vehicle, he showed signs of intoxication as he was unsteady on his feet, slurring his words. He reeked of alcohol as he admitted to drinking two beers before driving, and then consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and then agreed to provide a breath sample after being informed of implied consent, which resulted in .220 BAC%. Beasley was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
