The unwanted Christmas gift that kept on giving — Xiana Hughes

18-year-old Xania Huges was taken into custody on an assortment of felony and misdemeanor warrants stemming from a Christmas day incident. Police say her relationship with Rodney Douglas had ended in November, and on Christmas Day she wanted to retrieve her things from his home. He explained it wasn’t a good time, as he was with his current girlfriend, Jasmine Easley, for the holidays. Undeterred, Xiana showed up and became immediately irate, letting herself into the home via the back door, and walked in on the family opening gifts with children present. She destroyed the inside of the home, pulled her ex-boyfriend’s hair, punched him in his face and body, bit him on the bicep, and threatened him with a kitchen knife.

As Douglas and Easely pushed her out of the home, she began a second round of physical attacks. She then attacks them, their home, and their vehicle, with rocks and other objects. The vehicle suffered extensive damage to the windshield, mirrors, and body damage on all sides and panels. She then rips the mailbox off the base and tosses it at the home. She then got in her car to flee, but not before she attempted to drive into her ex-boyfriend using her car. Several neighbors recorded the entire incident on phones and doorbell cameras.

Michael Collins charged in bedroom sword attack of his male lover

26-yar-old Michael Collins was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant charging him in a sword attack of his lover, Tavon Knox. Police say the two lived together and were in a heated argument during which Knox was laying down on the bed. Michael reportedly grabbed a sword and attempted to stab the victim, however, the victim blocked the sword and knocked it away. Michael then jumped on the victim and punched his body until he yelled he was going to call the police, at which point Michael fled. A roommate observed a portion of the assault. The victim refused to turn over the sword to police as evidence.

Man charged in assault of ex-girlfriend, vandalism of her car — Jason Ferguson

37-year-old Jason Ferguson, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail Saturday on multiple outstanding felony warrants from January. Police say he entered the Nashville home of his ex-girlfriend, Alarecia James, unannounced and without permission, walked to her back bedroom, and knocked on the door. When she opened the door, he reportedly grabbed her by the throat with one hand, squeezed her throat, and slapped her face with his other hand, leaving visible injuries. Ferguson then exited the home and smashed the front and rear windows of her vehicle by jumping up and down on them.

Chad Dunn points gun at girlfriend, then turns it on himself, asking her to “do it” to protect herself from him

West Nashville Police say Erin Smith told her live-in boyfriend, 38-year-old barback Chad Dunn, their relationship was over Saturday evening, and shortly after he grabbed her by the throat with both of her hands and strangled her for approximately fifteen seconds, to the point she came close to losing consciousness. While holding both hands around her neck he then headbutted her. Dunn then grabbed a pistol, pointing it at her chest, stating “I want to protect you”. He then put the gun in her hands and forced her to point it at his forehead, telling her to “do it!”. Smith then fled the apartment with the gun, driving to West Precinct where her injuries were documented and she was treated by medics.

Zain Sheikh charged in strangulation of cocaine case co-defendant, Kally Dobak

31-year-old Zein Sheikh was out on a $75,000 bond for cocaine charges when he was arrested again this week, now additionally charged with felony aggravated assault/strangulation of his co-defendant in the cocaine case, Kally Dobak. He also had Kally arrested for assault the week prior to them both being indicted on the cocaine charges. In the new case against Sheikh, which was captured on building security cameras, he comes into the hallway in his underwear and pulls Dobak into their apartment, placing her into a choke-hold during an argument.

Man pulls knife on clerk when he doesn’t have ID to pick up alcohol for DoorDash order — Clayton Phifer

24-year-old Clayton Phifer and his wife were DoorDashing and had an order to pick up alcohol from a Berry Hill liquor store. When neither was able to produce ID to verify their age, they were denied the alcohol. After some back and forth, the store informed Clayton he was no longer welcome, and Clayton became irate and went outside only to return back inside with his wife. The clerk felt threatened and grabbed a bottle of liquor in case he had to defend himself, at which time Clayton pulled out a pocket knife and stated “there’s gonna be a murder scene in here”. The clerk and the Clayton were chest-to-chest during parts of the altercation and intimidation.

Woman charged with biting baby’s daddy, attacking him with a drawerful of knives — Hailey Rigsby

Dylan Davis says the mother of his child, 29-year-old Hailey Rigsby, was attempting to start a verbal argument, however, he refused to respond or give her a reaction, so she began to grab at him in an aggressive manner. In order to prevent her from injuring him, he says he wrapped his arms around her in a burrito-style hold and she bit him on the arm. She then moved around and threw a drawerful of knives and forks at him, and used a knife to cut him on the face. She was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and police documented multiple injures, including a bite mark, on the victim.

Zakeri Greer fires shot outside baby mama’s house, threatens to come back with AK-47 — free on $1K bond

Metro Police responded to a shots-fired call on Briarwick Drive on February 17th, during which 20-year-old Zakeri Greer had threatened his child’s mother, Jasmine Howse, then allegedly drove by her home and fired a gun. As police were taking her report, Greer texted the victim, stating he was heading back over, and this time he was bringing his AK-47, placing her in imminent fear of her life.

Woman charged in assault of boyfriend when he says he can’t protect her from an ex in jail — Tiffany Russ

Police say 48-year-old Tiffany Russ was drinking when she received a message from an ex-boyfriend who was in jail in Memphis, and her current boyfriend told her he was unable to protect her from the ex-boyfriend who was in jail. Witnesses say she became increasingly angry and began to use a knife to cut up furniture around the home, also breaking a window and a vase. When the current boyfriend, Ronald DeVaughn, tried to “calm her down” she slashed at him with the knife causing him to be in fear she was going to attack him.

Irma Alvarez charged in knife attack of ex-boyfriend after discovering he was texting other women

34-year-old Irma Alvarez is jailed in lieu of a $25,000 bond after being booked on an outstanding warrant from May charging her with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The warrant was issued after a nurse called police when Jairo Lagos presented to the emergency room with an already bandaged laceration from a knife wound. He revealed he had been at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and when she discovered he had been texting other females she took his phone and grabbed a kitchen knife, attempting to stab him. He grabbed the knife in an attempt to disarm him, but as she pulled the knife back it left a severe cut to his right hand.
