19-year-old Richard Harvell was sitting on an overhang of the Shelby Street Bridge in the early morning hours of May 27 when officers observed him with his legs dangling over the ledge. He was causing alarm to nearby citizens, who believed he might jump into the river. Officer Ian Pearce grabbed Harvell from behind and pulled him to safety. He was then taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct.
Richard J. Harvell was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on May 27th, charged with disorderly conduct. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
