The three teens killed in Sunday morning’s single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Sidco Drive and Powell Avenue are identified as Jeffrie Prendergast, 18, who was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro, and his two passengers, Jonathan Jesus Bravo, 18, and Jordan Posantes, 19, all of Franklin. An officer from MNPD’s Street Racing Initiative attempted to pull over the car as it left from a gathering when the car fled and crashed, killing all three teenagers.

After a group of street racers was located in the area of Powell Avenue, an officer working the Street Racer Initiative attempted to stop the Camaro on Powell Avenue, but Prendergast fled at a high rate of speed. The officer deactivated his emergency equipment and did not pursue the Camaro. The car crashed a short time later after traveling through the stop sign at Powell Avenue and Sidco Drive. The Camaro left the roadway and struck a railroad track berm, causing it to go airborne. The car traveled through a chain link fence and landed in a parking lot on railroad property, where it became wedged between two semi-trailers.

All three teens died at the scene. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene.
