25-year-old New Yorker Michael Rowland is charged with assault of an officer after he smacked a police horse on the ass Saturday night in downtown Nashville. The horse reportedly jumped, which placed the mounted officer “in fear of falling off the horse and hurting himself,” according to Metro Nashville Police. The officer was able to corner Rowland as other officers responded and took him into custody for the assault.

Michael Conor Rowland of 97th St in Madison, NY, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on August 12th, charged with assault of an officer. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000, and the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office gave him pre-trial release from their facility.
