52-year-old Jeffery Pyle was at the Redneck Riviera on October 5th with his daughter, Riley Pyle, when the defendant began arguing with a member of security staff, David Robertson. Robertson alleged that Pyle and his daughter knocked over a sign, and the duo refused to pick it up when told to do so; at this point, a verbal argument began, with the daughter getting between both men. Robertson alleges that Pyle punched over his daughter’s head, striking Robertson in the face.

A witness to the event that also works for Redneck Riviera security, Vincent Jones, states that he saw the altercation as Robertson described it. However, he also added that the victim pushed the defendant after being punched in the face. The victim decided to press charges, so Pyle was brought in and immediately requested to speak to a lawyer.
