21-year-old Daniel McGrory was involved in a domestic dispute with his at-the-time girlfriend, Mariah Toennies, at their shared residence on Bell Rd. in the night hours of November 26th. Toennies advised she and McGrory were arguing regarding his alleged infidelity when he suddenly became upset and “kicked “mule kicked” her in the chest. She was packing her belongings so she could leave when McGrory continued to assault her, strangling her and throwing her on the ground.  Toennies stated this went on for approximately an hour, and he strangled her numerous times, even causing her feet and fingers to become numb at one point. McGrory made statements such as, “I’m going to kill you.” and “I want to kill you.” during the altercation. He left before officers arrived, but they observed the visible injuries Toennies sustained consistent with assault and took pictures for evidence. McGrory was taken into custody for aggravated assault on November 30th.
