39-year-old Kevin Horton was disorderly as he got a courtesy ride from police to the Doubletree hotel on November 28th. Horton attempted to escape the patrol car as it moved and became angrier when they arrived at the hotel. They would not open the door for him as quickly as he liked, so he began punching the windows. Horton was deemed a danger to himself and refused to comply with the directions of his acquaintance, who assumed responsibility for him. He insisted that he was not going to stay at a hotel, but return home to Mt. Juliet, so officers had no other choice but to place him in custody for public intoxication as he was unable to care for himself.
