44-year-old Ryan Scott Smith failed to use his turn signal in his white Mazda CX5 before changing lanes in front of a Nissan Titan near Donelson Pike on the afternoon of February 11th. Officers observed this, initiated a traffic stop, and noticed Smith was visibly intoxicated as they approached the driver’s side. Officers asked him where he was coming from, and he told them he was at the bars on Broadway. Smith admitted this was also where he had two IPAs. Smith consented to sobriety tests, performed poorly, and refused to provide a sample after being informed of implied consent. Smith was taken into custody for driving under the influence and implied consent on February 12th.
