23-year-old Jayilan Burton had a domestic altercation with his wife, Adajiah Burton, at their shared apartment on Brooksboro Terrace on the night of February 10th. Mrs. Burton spoke to the police when they arrived, advising them she and Jayilan had argued. Mrs. Burton said Jayilan punched her in the face repeatedly during the argument. When questioned by police, Mr. Burton refused to talk about the incident. Officers observed swelling to the left side of her face and a laceration on her lip. Officers deemed Jayilan as the primary aggressor, and he was taken into custody for domestic assault.
Jayilan J. Burton was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on February 10th, charged with domestic assault. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
