24-year-old Martin Bowers had an incident with his ex-girlfriend, Destinee Taylor, near a Treutlan Place residence in the early hours of April 13th. Taylor alerted the authorities and stated she and Bowers were heading to make a deal near his home in Hermitage. When they returned to Treutlan Place, he told her to give him the money that he had given her to get her nails done, so she tried to go inside to get it for him, during which he grabbed her phone. Once she exited the truck, he went around and slammed her onto the street. Taylor tried to crawl back on the grass to get away, but he started punching her in the head repeatedly. She added that he struck her between 10-20 times. Afterward, Bowers “hopped-skipped” away into his truck. Officers observed a bleeding cut on Taylor’s hand, grass and debris in her hair, dirt stains on her pants, and a bump on her head. Due to her head injuries, Taylor was transported for medical treatment. Bowers was taken into custody for robbery and domestic assault.
Martin A Bowers was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on April 15th, charged with domestic assault and robbery. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $12,000.
