29-year-old Amy Monts Coggins had a domestic altercation with her husband, Zackary Nix Coggins, near Church Street and the Railroad Overpass around 12:01 a.m. on May 4th. Officers were advised that they were walking back to their hotel room from the bar, where some gentleman looked at Amy. She did not like this, and the couple argued over the occurrence on the way back to their hotel. During the argument, Amy said Zackary started verbally degrading her and calling her profanities. This prompted her to slap him in the face, then run to the bridge to jump off it. She told officers that Zackary did not assault or threaten her before admitting to slapping him, which he corroborated. Amy was transported to the hospital and then was taken into custody for domestic assault.
