This story is brought to you by Scoop: Nashville as part of the #bspotter / #VisitMusicCity series which features tourist and downtown-related arrests in Music City.
41-year-old former troubled Metro Council & Vice-Mayoral candidate Matthew Del Rossi was jailed Friday after failing a drug test for his probation and telling his probation officer to “write a warrant” as he stated he would refuse to comply with “any and all sanctions,” resulting from a positive drug screen (yes, he really speaks that way)…
The drug test was on December 20th, and he failed the mandated test, which violated the terms of his probation. His probation sought a warrant, which was granted, and he was booked on that open warrant this week. Del Rossi ran for Vice-Mayor in 2018 while being wanted on criminal charges in Austin, TX, and somehow blamed new Mayoral candidate Sheri Weiner for the public finding out about his warrants.
Matthew John Del Rossi of Gravel Hill Rd in Bethpage, TN, was booked into the Metro Nashville Jail on January 20th, charged with an order of protection violation and vandalism. A judicial commissioner set his bond at $1,000.
