25-year-old Nicholas Mathis was being escorted out of Jason Aldean’s Bar on Broadway in downtown Nashville early Wednesday morning when he decided he wasn’t going to be taken down the stairs and became aggressive, holding onto the railing. As he was pulled away from his grip and further down the stairs by security guards, he became enraged and punched bouncer Gabriel Fernandez in the face as they were exiting the door. He was taken to the ground, and nearby Metro Nashville Police officers were flagged down. He was taken into custody and charged with assault.
