58-year-old Raquel Arias was involved in an altercation with her roommates at Donelson Pike on December 31st. The dispute began when Arias noticed money was missing from her room, so she grabbed a knife from the kitchen and knocked on her roommate’s door. She demanded that they give her the money that they took, banging on the door with the knife. When officers arrived, they made contact with the four victims. None of them could speak English, so officers utilized a language line to communicate with them. All of their statements were corroborated, and stated that Arias came out of her room and began accusing them of stealing her money. They also said that once she got the knife, she began to chase them around the house until they locked themselves in their rooms and called law enforcement.
