20-year-old Dyrize Javonie Brown had a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Dawnesha Lashawn Blaylock, at the WeGo Central Transit Center on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard on October 15th, 2023. When the detectives arrived, they spoke with Blaylock, who was visibly upset as she reported that she and Brown argued. Blaylock explained the argument became physical when Brown punched her in the face multiple times. Officers could not any review camera footage because the altercation happened outside the bus station. Blaylock was also unsure exactly where because she was running away from Brown. After Blaylock described Brown to the officers, she told them that she wanted to speak with a counselor at her leisure and then was transported to night court to obtain an order of protection. Blaylock refused all medical treatment and did not need shelter since she felt safe. Brown was taken into custody for domestic assault on March 7th.
