26-year-old Justin Perry struck Daryel Lawrence, an employee, at the Nashville Rescue Mission around 11:06 a.m. on April 18th. When officers arrived, they located Perry outside with other employees. Then, they spoke with Lawrence, who stated that Perry had been acting very erratic and aggressive toward others since the morning. Lawrence said they advised Perry to leave the property for a day, which he refused. Employees escorted Perry out of the building, but he stayed on the premises. Lawrence provided officers with security cam footage, which showed him exiting the building and talking to Perry. Lawrence then informs Perry he needed to leave, sparking an altercation, where Perry hit him on the left side of his face. Then, the manager at the establishment pulled Lawrence back into the building while other employees hindered Perry from entering. When officers spoke with Perry, he reeked of alcohol and showed numerous signs of impairment. Perry was taken into custody for assault and criminal trespass.
