31-year-old Benjamin Eddie Rutland haded officers cash from his wallet and told them it was his identification when they found him asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle on I-65 S early Tuesday morning. When first responders arrived, they noted he was asleep behind the wheel with the vehicle running and in drive. As Nashville fire woke him, they attempted to get him to place the vehicle in park, but he was too incoherent to understand or take action on the request. Rutland says he had “two beers” at an East Nashville bar prior to driving. He later blew a 0.105% BAC on a breathalyzer.
