29-year-old Courtney Sue Fagerlie was involved in a car accident near Cahal Avenue and Gallatin Avenue in the early hours of March 18th. When the officers arrived, they spoke with Fagerlie, who stated she was turning left onto Gallatin Avenue when she was hit by the other vehicle. The officers noticed she showed signs of impairment, so they asked if she would be willing to perform sobriety tests, which she refused. Then, when they went to detain her, she became resistive, refusing to put her hands behind her back. After a brief struggle, she was safely placed in the back of the patrol car, where she refused to provide a chemical sample. Fagerlie was taken into custody for driving under the influence, implied consent, and resisting arrest.
